immunizations

Check with your local health department and your doctor as to the immunizations that are necessary for the area to which we are going. Keep in mind that the health department will be talking about the country as a whole, while you will not necessarily be in an area where a specific disease, yellow fever, for example, is prevalent. You may call the Centers for Disease Control at 404-639-2572 or go to Travel Health Online to find more information about your area of travel. Find out what is required to enter the country. Be sure that you have a Tetanus shot.

insurance

Insurance is something that we are currently investigating. I have been in contact with two travel insurance carriers. I will contact you with the information when I receive it.

security

It is vital that we stay together as much as possible. No one should walk alone. The missionaries are aware of dangerous areas and will steer us clear of such areas, however common sense is needed at all times. We will cover specifics in our pre-project training and also upon arrival in Brazil.
